Dr. Saada Bendenia

Dr. Saada Bendenia is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, graduated in 1994 from the Institute of Veterinary Sciences of Tiaret (ISV Tiaret). A visionary leader and pioneer in the modernization of Algeria’s veterinary sector, Dr. Bendenia has dedicated his career to advancing veterinary science, professional unity, and international collaboration.

His journey began as a founding member of the scientific club Errazi at ISV Tiaret in 1990, reflecting his early commitment to academic and scientific engagement. Following his graduation, he practiced as a private veterinarian in Sidi Bel Abbès from 1994 to 1998, before expanding into the distribution of animal health products as a wholesaler of veterinary supplies starting in 1998.

Dr. Bendenia played a major role in the creation of the National Association of Veterinarians on January 9, 1996, marking one of the earliest organized efforts to strengthen the veterinary profession in Algeria. His leadership continued through roles as Curator of the International Exhibition of Poultry Farming and Milk and Commissioner of the International Goat Show, both of which promoted national agricultural development and knowledge exchange.

In 2003, Dr. Bendenia founded the Algerian Veterinary Space (EVA) — now the Algerian Veterinary Space Foundation (AVSF) — and has served as its President since its creation. Under his leadership, EVA/AVSF has become a cornerstone institution connecting veterinarians, scientists, and organizations across Algeria and beyond.

On the continental level, Dr. Bendenia has represented Algeria in numerous African and Arab veterinary events, and he also co-founded the Maghreb Veterinary Space, established in Oran in September 2018, and continues to play an influential role in organizing and participating in numerous national and international scientific events dedicated to advancing veterinary medicine, public health, and One Health principles.
